‘Materialities; energies’ at Gallery ID:I / Stockholm


The exhibition brings together works by ten artists who met in the one-year postmaster course Materialities; energies at the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm.
Exhibiting artists: Anna Pehrsson, Anna Cherednikova, Desia Ava, Elsa Gomis, Katarina Elvira Gudrunsdotter, Korina Kordova, Peter Norrman, Sanna Fogelvik, Tova Rudin-Lundell, Tove Alderin.
Also titled Materialities; energies, the exhibition presents different approaches to working with energy as a form of matter, taking it as an artistic medium and/or starting point for artistic investigation and creation.

Both works unfold from “Foresting and Choreographic Anarchiving”, an artistic research project situated at the crossroad between choreography, feminist materialism, and anthropology beyond the human. The artist works from and with traces, both material and intangible, weaving them together in dialogue with the exhibition space, memories, and imagination, allowing a mini-non-site to emerge. The assembling of traces reenchanted in flesh. stick. stone connects the ground from different geographies: the Brazilian Amazon, Arnhem (Netherlands), a quarry in the south of Stockholm, and the grey floor at ID:I gallery.
